Key enhancements for the new 2022 Tundra include an overhauled frame, a new rear suspension, new powertrains and a more modern interior design. The base turbo V6 makes about as much power as the old Tundra's V8, but generates more torque, which is helpful for towing, and boasts considerably better fuel economy. The optional hybrid V6 version, featured on this truck, uses a battery located under the rear seats to power an electric motor that gives the Tundra even more muscle over the standard V6.
Hardened by the team at Toyota Racing Development, the 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is equipped to take you way off-road. Standard features include lightweight 18-in. forged-aluminum BBS wheels, Rigid Industries LED fog lights and a heritage-inspired front grille. It is one tough truck that will take you to places you never thought possible.
Up front, TRD-tuned springs coil themselves around heavy-duty FOX shocks. Tuned by TRD, these shocks feature a beefy 46-mm. piston and 11 bypass zones to help control the front wheels extra 1.5 inches of travel. The rear gets two extra inches of travel, plus equally massive FOX shocks with 12 bypass zone and 2.5-in. piggyback reservoirs. Tough as nails and TRD aluminum skid plate helps armor the underside of Tundra TRD Pro. It looks good, too, with TRD lettering for extra attitude.
